‘Faces of Resilience’ Photo Gallery
A Butterfly’s Journey (501c3 non-profit) began taking these beautifully cathartic photos of bereaved persons in 2015 to promote raising awareness of the need for open discussion of the difficult topic of grief. Participants are photographed expressing a phrase meaningful to them.
We have had such an amazing response from participants and others that we decided to launch a separate website for ‘Faces of Resilience’.
We will re-direct this link to the photo gallery on the Faces of Resilience website once all photos are loaded. For now, please enjoy our photo gallery here.
“When I first saw the photo gallery on the ABJ website, I immediately connected on a personal level with the strength, courage, love, and loss of the people in the photos…(After losing two of my three children) I did the photoshoot with my remaining child, Michael. It is such a unique way to allow us to express our pain and love. It is so powerful, cathartic and healing. My son Justin died 20 years ago, my daughter Kimberly died 2 1/2 years ago. Up until this photoshoot, I don’t think Michael had ever truly expressed his loss. He felt it was creative and was proud to wear his sibling’s names on his arms, and of course, it meant so much to me…
