TED Talk: Caleb Wilde
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The North American leap from a culture of healthy death acceptance to a culture of death denial has been no leap at all. It’s been a journey of small steps. And this journey has, in part, been enabled by both the professionalization of death and the funeral industry. In this talk, Caleb explores options that help us pursue death acceptance by taking back death care responsibilities. Caleb Wilde is a sixth generation licensed and practicing undertaker and embalmer. He also has a grad degree in Theology and is doing post grad work on death, religion and culture. Caleb runs the “Confessions of a Funeral Director” blog. He’s the last person that will ever let you down in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania.
