This week, Monica & the Breakthrough Revenue Team, would like to highlight Barbara Hopkinson. Barbara is the definition of a phoenix rising from her ashes, and that’s why she’s our Feature of the Week. She has just announced that she received notice from the IRS that her non-profit organization, A Butterfly’s Journey, is officially NON-PROFIT PENDING APPROVAL. As a certified Grief Recovery Specialist, with over 10 years of experience, Barbara started her journey in 2003 after the death of her 21-year old son in a motorcycle accident (and the loss of 2 other children before that). Through that gut-wrenching experience she was able to found The Compassionate Friends of Greater Newburyport, Mass, a local chapter of the international organization created as a support group for bereaved families. As she grieved, Barbara began to document her progress in a journal. As she continued to write, she continued to heal. As she continued to heal, she continued to grow. With that growth, she realized how she could be a blessing to others.
